Lots of main boards from MSI and others come with RAID features (K9N2 SLI Platinum/Diamond) that allow you to plug in other external devices to your computer. If you don't have any devices that use RAID, it's not necessary to keep this active. Remember, never delete it, just disable it. You never know if you might need it in the future. | |||

Not true. Is not specific to RAID. It means you have a JMicron controller which often handles legacy PATA and IDE drives, on-board eSATA port and Firewire port just to name a few. Will vary by Mob (I have Asus M4A87TD EVO). Leave it alone. | |||
