How to Use Software Update:

1. Open Glary Utilities and click on the Software Update icon in the toolbar. The top right corner of the icon displays the number of detected pending software updates.

2. Software Update will display the automatic scan result, indicating the number of new updates available. You can also click “Rescan” to refresh and obtain the latest update information for software installed on your computer.

3. Clicking “Scan” “Rescan” or the “You have N new updates available” hyperlink will automatically redirect you to the software update details webpage. Here, you can review information about pending software updates, download them, and proceed with the installation. Alternatively, you can click “×” to ignore a particular version.

Customize Results:

You can customize your results by clicking on the top left corner to switch to the “Customize Results” view. This allows you to choose whether to “Show all versions,” “Ignore this version,” or “Ignore all versions.”

In the top right corner, the “Options” menu allows you to decide whether to “Show Details” or “Ignore beta versions.”

Customizing Results within the Tool:

In addition to customization through the webpage, you can access the “Customize Results” option in the bottom right corner of the tool. You can filter and hide beta versions by checking the “Ignore Beta Versions” option in the bottom left corner. The usage is similar to the web version.

Disabling Automatic Software Update Checks

To turn off the automatic software update checks, simply uncheck the checkbox located in the bottom left corner.

How to register to get the PRO version？

You need to register the program with the license code you purchased manually. The license code can be found in the email you received after you purchased the program.

After you use the license code to activate the trial version successfully, you can enjoy Glary Utilities Pro.

There are two registration methods to choose from:

Method 1:

1. When you run Glary Utilities after installing it, click the “Manage License” button under the “Overview” tab.

2. It will pop up a box for you. Please click “Refresh”.

3. Enter your Email and the License code, and finally, click “Activate Now.”

Method 2:

1. Click on the icon located in the top right corner of the program interface.

2. Enter your email and click the “Email me a Quick Sign-in Link” button.

3. Wait for verification… You will receive a verification email within seconds. (Please make sure to add glarysoft.com to your spam filter.)

4. Open the email sent by Glarysoft, and click the “Log in to Glarysoft” button to verify your email and access your account.

5. Return to the software interface. You can either wait for the system to automatically activate or click the “I have verified” button. The software will be successfully activated, and the expiration date information will be displayed.

To log out of your account, click the icon in the top right corner. Alternatively, you can click “Manage My Account” to access the User Management Center, review your purchases, change your password, and more.

If you successfully register with your license code, the trial version will turn into the pro version.

If you haven’t received the license code, there could be several reasons:

1) Check your Spam folder: Your email settings may have filtered the email containing the license code as spam. Please check your Spam folder to see if it’s there.

2) Verify your email address: Double-check if you provided the correct and valid email address when you placed the software order. An incorrect email address could result in not receiving the license code.

3) Email service provider restrictions: Some email service providers have strict filters that may reject emails from unknown senders. Ensure your email service provider allows emails from Glarysoft or add their email address to your safe senders list.

2. Lost your license?

If you have lost your license code, please visit the Lost License or My Account page to retrieve it. Please ensure that the email address you use to retrieve the license code is the same one you used when you originally ordered the product.

Alternatively, you can email support@glarysoft.com and provide your name, email address, and order number (if known). We will be happy to assist you in finding your license code.

3. How to renew my license code

We consistently offer renewal discounts to our customers. Customers can renew their license code from the software by clicking “Buy Now” to avail the renewal discount. You will get a new subscription and a new ONE-YEAR license code by renewing. You need to register the Glarysoft program with your new license code manually.

4. When will I receive my license code after purchasing?

If you purchase using a credit card or PayPal, you will receive your registration and license code information immediately via email. If you use an alternative billing method, you will receive your registration and license code information once payment has been received and cleared. 5. How long is the valid service time of the license code?

Interface Overview:

1. Quick Access Button: Located on the second line, it allows you to quickly Defrag the selected disk or Defrag a file or folder. The “Options” feature enables users to customize the General settings of Disk Defrag. This includes configuring Defrag settings (such as Scheduled defrag, Auto defrag, and Boot Time Defrag), specifying Optimize preferences, and managing Excludes.
2. Drive Information: The upper box displays the drive name, file system, capacity, free space, and other relevant details.
3. Analyze and Defrag Buttons: Located below Drive Information, this is a shortcut button for Analyze and Defrag, along with buttons for Pause and Stop operations. You can also check “Turn off PC after defragmentation” here.

Fragmentation Details: The lower box shows fragmentation percentages, disk capacity, free and used space sizes, analyzed file amounts, and a list of file fragments that need defragmentation, along with their path information. 5. Defrag Status: The middle box shows the current defragging disk state. Upon clicking the small square in the disk array, access the “Selected” tab to view detailed information about the stored files. Within the “Selected” list, right-clicking on a chosen file allows for specific move operations.

How to Analyze and Defrag Disk Fragments?

Step 1: Analyze

Select the disks you want to analyze, and then click the “Analyze” button or choose “Analyze” from the “File” option on the first-line button. Disk Defrag will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the disk, displaying detailed information. With a powerful engine, this analysis is remarkably fast, completing within a minute.

Step 2. Defrag

Choose the disks you want to defrag, and then click “Defrag” or select it from the “File” option on the first-line button. The small triangle to the right of “Defrag” opens a menu, allowing you to choose different defrag modes based on your specific requirements.

Differentiation of Defrag Modes:

• Defrag: The basic defragmentation function that organizes only fragmented files.
• Defrag and Optimize (slower, use once a week): This mode relocates less frequently accessed files to the end of the disk, creating space at the front to enhance read and write speeds.
• Defrag and Prioritize Files (slower, use once a week): In this mode, folders and frequently used files are prioritized and moved to the front for optimized access.
• Defrag Freespace: This mode arranges all files towards the front, maximizing available space at the rear for optimal storage capacity.

After defragmentation, Disk Defrag efficiently detects and rearranges fragments on your disk, significantly improving access speed, accelerating application launches, enhancing search speed, shortening system startup times, and boosting overall system performance.

1. Defragmentation of Single Files or Folders:

If you need to defrag a specific file or folder without waiting for the entire drive defragmentation process, Disk Defrag offers the flexibility to do so. This feature is particularly useful when optimizing the performance of installed applications, games, or downloaded videos. Unlike many other defragmentation tools that only allow defragmenting entire drives, Disk Defrag enables you to defrag specific files or folders.

2. Scheduled Defragmentation

Disk Defrag provides automatic PC care with customizable scheduling options. You can set up scheduled defragmentation according to your preferences, along with other customization features. To configure the schedule, click the “Options” button, choose “Schedule” under “Defrag” on the left, select “Run on a schedule,” and define the desired action, frequency, time, and drives. Once you are satisfied with the settings, click “OK.”

3. System Boot File Defragmentation

Disk Defrag supports defragmentation of both FAT 16/32 and NTFS file systems, including system files such as page files, registry hives, hiberfil.sys, and other system-locked files. When Windows fully runs, defragmenting system booting files improves PC boot time.

On the main interface, you can select the “Boot Time Defrag” tab to enable or disable the operation, check specific items, and view the history of Boot Time Defrag. Click “Configure” or “Options” for further settings on the frequency of boot defrag.

4. SSD Optimize

Select a drive in the partition list, right-click, and choose to either check or uncheck [SSD] to designate the drive as an SSD or non-SSD. When an SSD is selected, the SSD Optimize optimization page will appear below. Enable or disable certain system options to optimize your SSD. Hover over these items to view their descriptions.

5. Excluding Specific Files and Folders:

Disk Defrag includes an excluding module that allows you to create an ignore list of files and folders that you do not want to defragment. You can easily add and remove files and folders from this module. To access the Excludes function, click the “Options” button, and then save or remove files as needed. Don’t forget to click “OK” to apply the changes.

6. Automatic Computer Shutdown:

Once the defragmentation process is completed, Disk Defrag can automatically shut down your computer. This feature saves electricity and time, especially when defragmenting multiple drives. To enable automatic shutdown, check the box labeled “Turn off PC after defragmentation.”

7. Integration with Windows Explorer Context Menu:

Disk Defrag offers integration with the Windows Explorer Context Menu. To enable this feature, open Glary Utilities, go to “Menu,” select “Settings,” click on “Context Menu,” and check the “Disk Defrag with Glary Utilities” option. Finally, click “OK” at the bottom of the page.

Note: You can also configure options such as Auto Defrag, Auto Start-up with the operating system, and optimize defrag file size categories from the “Options” menu.

However, please note that if all the drives are solid-state drives, the automatic defrag options will be disabled. Defragging may reduce the lifespan of solid-state drives (SSDs), so it is not recommended to defrag SSDs.

Method 1: Uninstall via the Control Panel

1. Open the Start menu and click on Control Panel (you can type “Control Panel” in the search box).

2. Within the Control Panel, locate and click on the “Uninstall a program” option. This will take you to the “Programs and Features” section.

3. Find the Glarysoft Program that you want to uninstall in the list of installed programs. Right-click on it and select the “Uninstall/Change” or “Uninstall” button.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions that appear to complete the uninstallation process.

Method 2: Uninstall via the Settings

1. Open the Start menu and click on Settings, select Apps.

2. In the list of Apps & features, find the Glarysoft Program that you want to uninstall. Click on the “Uninstall ” button.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions that appear to complete the uninstallation process.

By following these steps, you will be able to uninstall a Glarysoft Program from your computer successfully.

Interface Overview

1. Feature Area: Displays the available features for 1-Click Maintenance. You can choose which feature to scan for issues.

2. Options Button: Allows you to select the sections of each feature to scan.

3. Scan for Issues Button: Once the setup is complete, click the “Scan for Issues” button to find and resolve any issues on your PC.

Where to Select the Sections to scan for 1-Click Maintenance

There are two ways to find the place to set up 1-Click Maintenance. You can find the Options button on the 1-Click Maintenance page, click Options, and then set it up in a new pop-up window.

Or you can open Glary Utilities-> Click the Menu icon on the top right -> Select Settings. You will also find the page to set up.

Choose tasks to scan for 1-Click Maintenance

On the Settings page, you can choose the task under each feature you need to scan. Here are four features on the left: Registry Cleaner, Disk Repair, Tracks Eraser, and Temporary Files Cleaner. Click on each feature, you will see some tasks below this feature on the right box. Just check up the box before each section you want to scan, and then click the OK button. When you rescan issues for 1-Click Maintenance, these sections will be scanned. 

Automatic 1-Click Maintenance

Using the pro version, you can schedule the time to execute automatic 1-Click Maintenance from “Auto Care”. You can find “Auto Care” from Settings in the Menu list.

After you have marked the box before “Execute 1-Click Maintenance at a scheduled time.”, you can set up by “Options” button and “Change Schedule” button.

“Options” button: Allows you to setup 1-Click Maintenance to “only scan for problems” or “Scan and repair problems”. Just remember to click the “OK” button to finish the setup.

“Change Schedule” button: Allows you to schedule the date daily, weekly, and monthly from Monday to Sunday. You can edit the start time to any minute you wish. There is also power management. Through Power Management, you can choose “Don’t start the task if the computer is running on batteries” or “Wake the computer to run this task”, and finally click the “OK” button to finish this schedule.
